This afternoon I went to fill up my Honda with gas @ $3.93 a gallon..........which I'm sure all of you agree is absurd!!! I observed this nicely dressed Canadian lady approach this clearly "very" Latina lady (It was in the triple digits today and she was wearing a dress and heels.............to go to a fiesta at the Parke. LOL!!) stepping into her Expedition with her children. The Canadian lady was asking her for money. I told Elena, "We'll be her next victim. I'm going to tell her I don't speak English, so don't say anything."
Canadian: (taps on my window) Ma'am I hate to bother you, (Classic!) but............
Me: (in a Spanish accent) No speake English!
Canadian: (to my dismay...............busted out speaking SPANISH!) Nessicito denero para mi car. (The rest was Spanglish)
Me: (wearing my shades and totally thrown for a loop) I sorry. No money.
Basically, she needed $40. to purchase a part for her car (which I hear is a new scam.........nicely dressed people soliciting for a handout because their car is broke down) because it broke down on her and her kids. I didn't see "the" broke down car with any kids. Even if I did, I would have said no. I guess, Im heartless! But I don't have a problem with it. I would have offered to lend her my phone. She had money visibly given to her by some other sucker so she could have used the pay phone to call someone who cared.
Those people can get up everyday, like I do and go to work. No one gives me a "free" hand out. Another thing, I just spent $50. and got F@#! by the gas and oil company, so that probaly isn't a good location to be begging for money.
