Thanksgiving

Yesterday I celebrated Thanksgiving Day with my family at my brother and sister-in-laws new home. If you know my brother, David, he's NEVER on time and he doesn't even have any kids. He's going to be late to his own funeral. We were scheduled to eat at noon, but an hour later we were eating. At least he's consistent, right? It was worth the wait. Amie did an AWESOME job for her first big feast with the familia.

I caught heck from David. My family always dresses nicely to celebrate any holiday. I had a flash back of a Friends episode when Joey wore Phoebe's maternity pants. I didn't wear the maternity pants but I did dress comfortable. I wore a jogging suit. (Bunch of Haters!) I finally wised up after all these years. I needed room to expand so I could devour all the yummy food, especially all the deserts. My Aunt Olivia's banana pudding is still my favorite! I didn't feel so restricted..........just extremely SLEEPY!!!

I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with my family even though, Ricky and Brandon weren't with us to celebrate. (I know they were having a great time with their other parents.) My brothers and my cousin, James, are a riot! They can make anyone laugh. I can't wait to see them again at Christmas.

This year, I'm thankful for my husband, my little ones, my and their health, family and friends, our freedom, and this amazing life I have been blessed with. I'm truly fortunate to be apart of every beautiful day, especially as an American!

To be continued..........we still have to celebrate the McDowell's at the lake house.

High Heels

Oh, high heels how you make me in my outfit look oh, so sleek.
But, gosh, my feet are killing me by the end of the week

I coordinate you well to look oh so good
as any business woman should

Why are all the cute ones so tall
I can't wait to take you off after my last call

Why do I continue to coordinate you oh so well
to go put my precious feet through such hell

My toes crunched, my heels arched so high
all to look oh so super fly.

I walk with caution as if I were walking on glass
I'm afraid I might slip and fall and bust my ass

How my feet throb while I sleep,
Yet I know your the ones I'll keep

Playin Time

Elena had her first basketball scrimmage on Monday night. Her position is guard or is it point guard? Anyway, I didn't get to make it cause Ricky was sick. Scott went instead. He said she really has athletic abilities. She made a basket too. See, she's already doing more than her Mom ever did on the bb team.

Going Goth

When I went to get my pedicure this last time, I chose a dark purple/brown color for my toe nails. Scott asked me if I had gone goth because they looked black. Well, Allan was alone with a black sharpie and decided to color his toes with it. He was so proud......... Mommy and Daddy weren't.

Isolated

Ricky complained of a sore throat yesterday morning. I sent him on to school cause cause there was n&v, diarrhea, fever......you know, the classic symptoms that will convince Mom to keep you home from school. Well, midday the school nurse called stating he had a temp of 101. and he complained of a headache. Scott went to pick him up.

I took him to the doc this a.m. and he has STREP! Poor thing, is confined to his room for the next 24 hours cause the rest of us don't want it. I'm sure he and Elena aren't missing each other.

Withdrawls

I've been without the internet for a week, which seemed like ETERNITY! I allowed my kids to use my lap top and mysteriously my air card broke. Of course, NO ONE took responsibility for it. I had to wait patiently for my replacement air card. I was so elated to see the UPS box with my key to the world wide web.

Since I last blogged, I was in my first car accident. An idiot ran a red light. It was a hit and run. I "followed" him for 13 minutes with 911 on the line. I did get his license plate number. Arlington P.D. has this new handy dandy device. They are able to enter the license plate and provide you with whether or not the vehicle is insured and with whom. This less than honorable man was stunned when Scott and the police showed up at his front door.

Also, Elena earned a spot on the basketball team. Sixty-six girls tried out and twenty-four made it. I'm sure she'll get more playing time than her Mom ever did. LOL!!!

VB 1st Place City Champs

The underdogs came out on top! The Jackson Eagles even beat a team that was 6 -0, Kennedy. Whoo hooo!!!! The competition was was tense and nail biting. Elena made the last 5 serves for the winning 1st place trophy. I'm So PROUD of her!!

Halloween

Allan's excitement wore off after about 10 homes and asked to go home. I gladly obliged. Bran is growing and no longer wants to wear the cute, non-scary costumes. Elena wants to completely eliminate the costume. She elected to wear her vb uniform. That's the closest she came to one or she would have to stay home to pass out candy. Ricky went to an event at church.
