Birthday Celebration

The night before last, after we dined at EL Fenix, the resturant of Ricky's choice, we all came home for dessert. At my house, it's tradition to have homemade cake or cupcakes. Ricky opted for the cupcakes. (Scott made them for him, this year.) We began to sing Happy Birthday when my two year old, Allan, decided to join in. It was so halarious!! He doesn't know how to form sentences much less sing. He was "singing" at the top of his lungs, or shall I say screaming. The rest of us were laughing hysterically. Allan of course, thought is was his birthday. When it was time for Ricky to make a wish and blow out the candle, Allan took care of it for him. I hope Allan wished for something Ricky wanted.

Ricky's Birthday

Today is the birthday of my second born. He is officially 11! I remember his birth well. I was watching the noon news from my Baylor hospital bed. After the commercial break, the reporter was going to explain the reason for the plush tonka truck toy recall. I had received this exact toy as a gift. The doctor said I was "ready!" I asked if he could wait till after this particular report. The next thing I remember is Dr. Factor saying something comical, and I laughed a healthy 9# 13 oz baby boy right out.
Ricky is a typical boy. He loves to disassemble and assemble things. I go to him first when I need to assemble anything. He's also, the first to volunteer for any project or help around the house. I think he would be a great engineer. He would have to stay focused on his academics, though. Like many boys, I have to constantly push him to do well. He has the potential, he just lacks the desire. All in all, he's my son and I wouldn't trade him for the world!
Happy 11th Birthday, Ricky! Your Mama loves you!!

My Familia

My girlfriend, Gina, piqued my interest with this blog concept. (She's posting to keep her husband updated while he is being brave to protect our safety and freedom. He left to fight the war in Iraq on January 23rd. This is his third tour. I have a ton of respect for him. I admire him for being the noble, courageous, patriotic Marine he is.) I thought, "What a great idea!"

I work outside the home in a professional setting so communicating with my family and friends doesn't happen as much as I'd like. I would love to create extra time to speak on the phone. However, my priority is my family. This blog should give all of you an insight to what's going on with my familia.

I'm a wife, best friend, lover, mother, cleaning fairy. Those are just a few of the caps I wear throughout the day to tend to my precious familia's needs. I have four awesome gift's from God, three biological and one "bonus." I have a wonderful hot husband, as well, to help me with this amazing, (at times chaotic) journey. I hope you will enjoy all of our adventures.
