The Diva's..........minus Ricky
Diva # 1, Elena, has been bff's with Diva #2, Brianna, (the girl with the straight hair) since kindergarten, and Diva # 3, Kelsey, (the girl with the white tank) since the 5th grade (that's when she moved here). They spend way too much time together and Ricky loves being in the middle....................getting the first hand scoop on his upper classmen.
Allan Transformed.............
We celebrated his birthday at the lake. Luckily, the rain held off til after the festivities were over. He was thrilled his birthday had FINALLY arrived. He had been asking the month prior could he have his birhtday.
Mom: Allan what would you like to do first, bust your pinata, blow out the candles on your cake or open presents?
Allan: Open PRESENTS!!!!

Athletic Awards Banquet
Last Tuesday night Elena had her athletic awards banquet. Scott, Allan, Ricky, Brandon and I were all there to cheer her on. We ate Colter's while we watched a slide show of sporting events throughout the school year. Elena won three awards, Best Server for volleyball, Best/Most Rebounds for basketball and an award for track.
Ranger Game
Recently, our entire family went to the Ranger game. At this particular game, they were giving away Kinsler jerseys. My older kids rode with friends and arrived a couple of hours before us. My three year old has to take a nap and to tell the truth his mom does too. Anyway, not only didthey get jerseys, but they also got 'em signed by the pitcher.

Not a sissy lala
You will be amazed to read this just as I was amazed by seeing it with my own two eyes. Last week, my "big boy" who is just 3 1/2 yrs old, he will turn 4 in October, learned and has mastered to ride his bike WITHOUT his training wheels! I know I was impressed too. Not only can he ride his bike now, like all the other kids in the neighborhood, but after a day of riding he was trying to jump the curb and do "tricks". Today, he was trying to ride standing up! AND ride with his legs in the air! (I see ER visits in my future.) His Dad is ready to get him a motorcycle. (Over my dead body!)
This all occurred after one of his training wheels fell off his bike. He wouldn't let Ricky put it back on. So, he rode with just the one training wheel. That didn't work out so well. Ricky removed the other training wheel and he just took off. I'm so proud.....................yet, so sad. Wasn't it just yesterday when Scott and I brought him home from the hospital?!

Blue Bonnets
Ever since the State flower has been in bloom this year, I have wanted to get the kids photo with them. When I'm on the highway, I will scope out a spot that I think looks perfect. Of course, the kids aren't usually with me or they aren't picture ready. Just my luck................. and lucky for them.
Yesterday, while Scott and I went to Brandon's baseball tournament, Elena, Ricky and Allan stayed with my parents. (They haven't done that in a long while.) My parents took them to the lake for a few hours. Ricky fished with my Dad and my brother, Theo. (He was in heaven!) Allan played with his cousin, Matthew, who he hasn't seen since Christmas.
Elena surprised and impressed me with this photo she took with her phone. I know the kids have expressed to me they think taking pictures in the blue bonnets is cheesy, but it's a Texas thing, though.

Easter 2009
This year Easter was spent with Scott's side of the family. Mike and his family didn't make it this year from San Antonio. As you can see, there are only two little ones.
Elena spent most of her time with the boys fishing. Allan caught his first fish and Scott didn't have the camera handy. Allan was super excited! It was too small to keep though. He said Papa made it bleed and didn't put a band aid on it.
Before we left our house, I got Elena and Allan's baskets down from the closet. My daughter questioned why I was getting hers downs and informed me she wouldn't be needing it. She explained to me she was "too big" to hunt eggs. Of course, when it was time to hunt eggs, she asked if she could use Allan's basket. I reminded her of her own words. Lorrie, my sister-in-law, had a loaner.

The Star Athelete
Scott and I are extremely proud of Elena. Last week, she won first place at her track meet. She threw the furthest at the shot put. We took her to the restaurant of her choice, El Fenix, to celebrate. Today, was the district meet and she won 3rd out of 21 girls from seven different schools. Beauty, brains and an athelete!

Easter Bunny
Ricky (12): Mom, are you going to make Allan go visit the Easter Bunny when he is 13?
Brandon (10) & Elena (13): Yeah?
Mom: No
All three: Then why are you making us?
Mom: If you don't take a picture, then the Easter Bunny won't bring you anything.
Brandon: That's o.k. with me (hoping to for some followers).
Ricky and Elena both go silent.

Update
(Should put some lotion on.)
I know I haven't blogged in a long while, however, there hasn't been much time to with all my kids activities and "needs." Since, my last blogg, I turned a year older. AND I got an amwesome platinum, diamond ring which I picked out. Happy Birthday to me! Scott took me to my favorite resturant. You know where. Elena was invited to go, however, she declined and opted to stay with Molly, Allan's sitter. Scott was not very happy about her decision. She's 13! She doesn't want to hang with her parents. Scott also, bought me some Vera Wang perfume.
My parents sent me cash and I bought new bedding for my room. I know...... didn't I just change it less than a year ago? I spend a majority of my time in my bedroom. I like it looking pretty. Am I the only one who change their bedding as often as I do?
Allan went to time out at big boy school for trying to choke his friend. He was provoked, had to have been. He didn't learn that at my house and we don't have cable. The one time that worked to my advantage. You hear that Robert Watson!
The kids are all doing well. It seems as though Ricky as been away for the entire month at his other parent. However, just the two of us want for a walk and spent some quality time together, yesterday.
Brandon has started up with baseball season and Elena has been playing soccer and track. I'll try to better about blogging.

Friday the 13th!
I don't consider my self a superstitious person, however, Friday I experienced the karma that is attributed to it. It started out with the heat in the house. It quit working! Being it was only freezing cold outside, it couldn't have happened at a worse time. Who sells firewood in Texas with Spring being a week away?! Scott cut lumbar instead. It kept the living room warm til my knowledgeable brother, David, arrived with his expertise. Thank GOD! It's Friday, and usually you have to wait atleast 24 hours or after the weekend for a service call. I am so thankful! He made it operational until the part can be replaced.
The other incident I shouldn't even blog about, but I am. I rear ended a car with my Expedition. Did I mention I only has three payments left to pay it off? This teen boy appeared as though he was going to go through the yellow light...................then decided against it. I tried to slam on my brakes, however, the roads where slippery from all the rain. I stopped with the thanks of his rear eand. We both get out of our vehicles and he says, "I don't see any damage. We can pull over and exchange info or we can go on our way." Okay, so hitting him was Friday the 13th ish, but the outcome was not what I expected. Thank you Jesus! There really wasn't any damage, just some chipping of paint. All is good!
Oh, and did I mention I had to be at work at 7:30?!................for a meeting about NOTHING!

7 YEARS!!!!!
Scott and I married 7 years ago today! (My, how time has flown!) It's the best thing I have ever done! Friday night, we secured a babysitter for Allan, a girl who helps watch him during the day, Molly. We rarely leave him with anyone. He asked, "Why you leaving me? You gonna come back?" He stayed up for us til we came back home, which was 11:30 P.M. Pretty late for an old married couple! LOL!
We went to our favorite restaurant to celebrate, Benihana's. And, if you are one of my close girlfriends you know where we went next. ;) We had a great time! That was my gift to him along with an under the cabinet tv/radio.

Today, I came home to a card and a gold bag on the center of our dining table. I had a hunch of what was in the bag. It's a bag I have become familiar with because it's from a jewelry store he shops at for me. According to him, since he has run out of places to put jewelry on me, he bought me a gold ankle bracelet. I have never owned one before. I asked him if he was going to get me a toe ring next. LOL!

Back AGAIN!!!!
Because I married the sickest man on earth! And, I mean that in the most loving manner. Earlier this year, (January) Scott, was diagnosed with the flu. He had both A & B. He laid on the bed/couch miserably! I was miserable too..................... listening too ALL the coughing, hacking, moaning and groaning. Now here we are a month later, and he has it again.
Men are not like women when it comes to being ill. We still have to continue with our daily routine. You know getting the kids ready for school, making meals, being the taxi, etc. Our kids don't care or wait for MOM to feel better. However, men, that is a different story.............everything must wait. Does anyone feel my pain?! I have to deal with it AGAIN!!! I tried to get him to go to the doctor or allow me to perform the flu test on him. He said all macho, "I don't have that!" Well, well, well! What do I know?! Here goes round two!!! Pray for me!!!

My Valentine's Day Gift
That I told Scott he bought me, after the fact. Anyway, I have never really been into pricey, designer hand bags. However, for what ever reason, I've had this notion in my head that I wanted an authentic Coach purse. AND............I finally bought myself one. I know it's not the style everyone is toting, but I'm not one to do what every one else does.
Recycling
In our shed in the backyard, which is the kids play house, it is equipped with a/c, t.v, and fridge, Allan made a discovery. He hasn't really been allowed to enter the older kids domain until recently. That is when he made his discovery of the kids toys from previous years. He discovered toy heaven! He is amazed with his findings, and I am happy I haven't had to purchase toys for Allan.

Family Affair
So I am a week late posting this. Last Saturday afternoon my entire family met at Joe's Crab Shack in Cedar Hill (Poor server!) to surprise my dad for his birthday. He was not expecting all of us to be there. He thought he was just going out to eat with my mom and sister cause they were hungry.

Happy Birthday Ricky!
Ricky turned 12 today! We celebrated yesterday by going to the place of his choice, Dave and Busters. An extra bonus was having the day off from school because of the weather.
One of three games Allan can play. He was annoyed Elena wouldn't leave him in peace and allow him to play alone. She wanted to maximize her tickets.......not a concern of Allan's
Having to problem solve.
Check out those gourmet cupcakes (and Allan's excitement). They were yummy too! And, yes I made them.
Reading his b-day card from Mama and Papa Ocanas and happy to receive cash, since he is in Elena's club, broke. He received a card in the mail from his bonus grandparents today as well.
Ricky blocking Allan from trying to make a wish on his behalf. Allan had been looking forward to blowing out the candle all day. He wanted to know when he could have his birthday again.

Notice the happiness of FINALLY receiving the gift he has wanted since before Christmas, an Ipod Nano.
(Elena was jealous because I took a pic with Ricky on his b-day and I didn't take one with her on her b-day. I was the photographer on her b-day. Allan didn't like the fact I was hugging Ricky. He said, "I your baby!" Brandon didn't say anything cause he didn't witness it. I love that I am so loved!)
